I am a Consulting Member of Technical Staff at Nokia, formerly Alcatel-Lucent/Lucent Technologies/AT&T, and have been their for almost 32 years since graduation from Purdue University with a BS and MS in Computer Science. My technical expertise is in the areas of switching system software, SS7 protocols, SIP protocol, and North American voice network interconnection and signaling.

I'm married with two kids, no dogs, several computers (an HP laptop running Windows 7 and virtual Windows XP, an HP desktop running Windows 7, a Dell desktop running Vista,a Dell llaptop running Windows XP and Lubuntu, and a cicra 2000 Dell desktop running Ubuntu Linux) Recent additions to our home Wi-Fi/Wired network are two Ninento DSs, a Wii, a Xbox, two iPads and four iPhones. Speaking of wasting time (or not wasting depending on your point of view), here are some of the more recent things I do when not at work...

• Being a dad for my kids.
• Watching TV. Cool things like The Weather Channel, most sports in High Def, and the Discovery Channel (think Mythbusters). Other things like Fox News come in handy. There is other good stuff, but most things in TV are useless, but someone must watch or it wouldn't be on.
• Waste time on the internet starting at Google.
• Biking - not as much as before kids
• Boy Scouts
• Coching soccer.
• Left brain diversions such as Kukuro (cross sums), Geocaching with my new GPS receiver, and generally being a computer geek writing silly little programs with Perl and C.
